Carrots are a root vegetable that originated from central Asia over 1000 years ago. Of course they are best known with a bright orange hue, but they were not always this colour. Before the Dutch selectively breed carrots to create the orange colour around the 16th century, yellow, white, purple and green carrots were all very common. Today, there are over 100 species of edible carrots, mainly boasting the famous orange but other colours are of course available.
At Pacific we currently import carrots from multiple countries around the world, while also supplying home grown British carrots when they are available.
