The orange (Citrus sinensis) is the fruit of a tree in the family Rutaceae. Botanically, it is a hybrid between the pomelo (Citrus maxima) and the mandarin orange (Citrus reticulata). Oranges are an essential food source worldwide due to their availability, vitamin C content, and ease of transport.

The two main varieties of Oranges are Navel and Valencia. Valencia oranges thrive in warm, subtropical climates and require ample sunlight and well-drained soil. They can withstand high temperatures. On the other hand, Navel oranges prefer cooler climates and are more sensitive to heat.

Thanks to growers in both the Northern and Southern hemisphere Oranges are avaliable all year round.
